Falling for Midi

This season is all about bringing attention to something more subtle: the ankle. Midi length dresses and skirts, as well as cropped denim are giving us the beautiful opportunity to play with a new hemline to not only show off this dainty body part, but to also show off our favorite pairs of shoes. We love this trend for its versatility, not to mention and it’s flattering for every single body type. Whether you’re waify, curvy, athletic, or pear-shaped, you can pull the midi or cropped hemline off, no question.

The midi item we’re currently obsessed with is this black knit dress. Not only is it incredibly chic in black, but it’s stretch makes it a piece you’ll always want to wear. Alex in particular has been loving it as something easy to throw on while in the early stages of pregnancy. The fit is truly the best part since it hugs the body in all of the right places, while still looking perfectly elegant. When styling this dress, we decided to keep the dark color palette consistent and paired it with black velvet booties and a black clutch. A great piece you can style so many ways all season long.

Michael’s Styling Tip: When wearing a midi skirt or dress, remember to have fun with your footwear. Whether it’s a pump, a knee high boot, or a bootie–all of it works!
