Color of the Season: Silver

Color of the Season: Silver

Last week we wrote about fall’s futuristic trend and the high gloss pieces we’re loving. Another chic way to add shine to your style is with the season’s “it” color: silver.

The feedback we hear a lot about silver is that it feels very holiday or seasonal, but we assure you this trend is no longer reserved for evening dressing. There are tons of ways to incorporate silver into your wardrobe, from day to night. Think everything from sequin skirts and tops to metallic dresses and puffer jackets.

One of the hottest items of the season are silver denim pants. Silver is a pretty fashion-forward trend, but this is a simple way to wear it in a practical and pretty way. Plus, they’re versatile. Here’s how we’d style them…

For a casual brunch: As the weather cools down, style silver bottoms with a cozy cream or black sweater and a pair of boots.

Out to dinner with friends: Opt for a white top, like a button down, and a silver pump. To dress up your look, swap the pumps for a silver sandal.

Keep in mind that the pants are the focus of the outfit, so the rest of the pieces don’t need to have much detail to them.

Silver is, of course, a great color to wear if you are dressing up in the next few months, and we’re seeing lots of looks featuring super fun sequins. From all-over sequins to detailing on dresses and jackets, these high-shine pieces can definitely be worn again around the holiday season and into the New Year. Try a full-on metallic silver garment for an even more fashion-forward approach.

For a minimal take that works for everyday, add a metallic touch with accessories like an embellished handbag or sparkly jewelry. One of our must-have items of the season is the silver boot and there are so many options out there, whether you invest in a designer pair or are looking to spend less for a fab, on-trend boot.

We’re also in the exciting process of styling our workspace. A new office calls for new supplies, so we’re sharing a few favorite pieces from our home that are transforming our office to a T.

Alexandra Von Furstenberg (AVF) is our go-to when it comes to accessorizing. The pieces are all acrylic (if you didn’t know, we love the modern aesthetic!) and these pieces fit seamlessly in any space. They are super cool if you want to add a pop of color, and also look chic if you’re drawn to a minimalistic design.

Some of our go-to pieces are:

Frames: Good frames are always hard to find but AVF has a nice assortment of different sizes and colors. We also love that they are sturdy enough for kids’ rooms.

Trays: One of our go-to gifts, the trays come in tons of shapes, sizes and colors, which is a nice way to add a touch of warmth to your office, living room or bedroom.

Boxes: We just added these to our office and are still working on what to fill them with, but we’re thinking they could make a cool candy jar or even a supplies holder.

Whether you are looking bring the silver trend into your home or need a gift idea for a friend or family member, we recommend these accessories year-round.
