We’re always impressed with how designers always find a way to reinvent and reimagine classic wardrobe staples like denim, and this season is no different. There’s a beautiful variety of denim pieces for spring that are incredibly diverse and fun including 90’s-inspired, western-inspired, unstructured, and never-seen-before silhouettes. The biggest highlight? Head-to-toe denim with a dark wash or edgy detailing like paint splattered touches or acid wash. This must-wear trend is made easy when you can find everything from jackets to heels to handbags in denim too.
One of our favorite reinventions this season is the jean jacket, and we quickly fell in love with this cropped piece by IRO.JEANS. It’s simple and clean and versatile, while also boasting a beautiful touch of edge thanks to the shoulder cut outs. This is a great option if you’re looking for a new denim staple that has unique detailing. It’s the kind of piece that can be worn with anything, but we decided to style a full denim look with dark wash jeans, a classic chambray shirt (great for post-pregnancy), a denim heel, and a gold and navy clutch. The perfect outfit for a casual day at the office or out and about on the weekend.
Michael’s Style Tip: When wearing denim on denim, stick with simple pieces so that the outfit does not get too busy. We also like to use different washes in the pieces of denim so that it makes for a dynamic look that is easy on the eyes.
