Can you believe Fall is basically over? While we feel like we just introduced autumn trends, the silver lining to the season’s end is definitely those Black Friday sales. We’re pressing pause to recap the pieces you should look for as you shop, especially those of-the-moment updates on closet staples.
Ready, set, shop: these are the it-items of the season.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: leopard is the neutral of the season. Embrace the trend with a bold printed dress, or take the more subtle route with leopard accessories.
Patent leather has made a splash on the scene, coating everything from apparel to accessories in a shiny finish. A chic patent leather boot is a must-have for seasons to come.
Mad for Plaid
There was likely nowhere you looked without seeing plaid this fall. For a unique take on the trend, keep an eye out for a plaid dress.
Refresh your knit wardrobe with an on-trend oversize silhouette. Details like puffed sleeves keep your fall basics looking anything but.
The season’s “it” color, silver instantly adds glam to your look, day or night. To add a touch of shimmer, opt for sequin accents on denim, skirts and tops.
A cool statement jacket is an easy (and warm) way to elevate any outfit. The one piece of outerwear you’ll never regret investing in? A leather jacket.
Follow suit with fall’s menswear-inspired trend. We’d splurge on a chic blazer, which adds a dose of sophistication to a pair of jeans or a pretty skirt.
‘Tis the time of year to refresh your fall favorites! These easy-to-wear pieces will especially come in handy as you pack for your year-end getaways. Speaking of, last week we took a quick trip to London, a city that we hadn’t had visited together in 10 years. And wow, was it different–in a special way.
We had so much fun exploring and getting a sense of the city’s fashion for you. Not only did we see the aforementioned trends all over the stylish streets, but we also got to check out an incredible amount of merchandise. We frequently refer back to a couple of our favorite British brands, so we loved seeing a larger assortment of their collections in department and speciality stores. Experiencing this really helped us get to know the designers and the inspiration behind the pieces we’ve been shopping for online.
Thanks to a list of friends’ recommendations, we had an amazing time shopping, dining and exploring the city’s cultural highlights. We wanted to share our London favorites as a guide for anyone headed across the pond.
Shopping to a T
Some of the stores you can’t miss include Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Matches, Browns and Dover Street Market. We also recommend walking around New Bond/Bond Street and Sloane Street for all the designer boutiques. Take a nice day trip to Notting Hill for the charming shops.
Food to a T
Tea time is, of course, a must when you’re visiting London! Here’s our short list of the best restos: Scott’s, Le Petite Maison, Sketch, Chiltern Firehouse, The Arts Club, Zuma, Gymkhana, Sexy Fish, Zuma, Isabel, Tamarind, Ivy, Delfino’s, Claridges and the Connaught.
Touring to a T
London is so charming and broken up into many different sections, like Mayfair, Marylebone, Notting Hill/Chelsea, and Knightsbridge, to name a few. We recommend doing a driving tour to get acclimated with the various neighborhoods. Make sure to visit the Royal family, too! If you’re into art, don’t miss the museums. We had the opportunity to visit the Tate Modern’s contemporary art collection and highly recommend.
