Holiday Gifting: Ideas for Everyone on Your List, Part II

Holiday Gifting: Ideas for Everyone on Your List, Part II

Holiday shopping is in full swing. Festivities are fast approaching, but there’s still time to get your gift giving down to a T. Last week we focused on women’s gift ideas, and this week we’re adding to that list and also presenting options for all your friends and family.

Speaking of gifting, odds are you’ve spent more time shopping for others than thinking about what to wear to your holiday parties. If you’re in need of a last minute look, be sure to check out our shop and our page, as we are continually adding great options both for you and for the family. Before you add to cart, consult our holiday party dressing diary to get you in the spirit.

Now, onto part two of our holiday gift guide to make sure you have something stylish for everyone on your list.

You can never go wrong with gifting jewelry, as there’s really something out there for everyone.
Whether you choose something sparkly for everyday wear, or an irresistible special occasion piece, jewelry is a timeless gift. As you pick out a brilliant bauble, keep these four trends in mind.

  • Rainbow: Designers are embracing the rainbow. Colorful jewelry is no longer monochromatic, like all rubies or all emeralds; it’s a full spectrum of colors and shades.
  • Black and White: From high-end buys to pieces at affordable price points, we’re seeing this classic combo for day and night. It pairs especially well with the most colorful items in your closet.
  • Diamond and Gold: A sophisticated metal that feels both vintage and new, gold is definitely the color this holiday season. We’re excited to wear it throughout the year, too.
  • Layering: Piling on layers of necklaces and rings continues to be a huge look, plus it’s an easy way to make a statement with your everyday jewelry.

Buying Liv gifts for the holidays has come naturally to us, but as new parents, it’s still been a different shopping experience. We have had so much fun introducing her to the holiday season and also trying to explain to her, as best we can, how she gets a gift during this season. This year, our go-to clothing items are fun pajamas for Liv to wear during the holidays and over the winter months. Of course, we also had to pick out a special holiday outfit, which we found at Livly Clothing in Soho. Be sure to check out our favorites on our shop! Pro tip: Saks’ children’s department is having a great sale in-store and online, so be sure to check it out.

Available across price points, you can get a great pair of sunglasses for under $250 or even under $100. They’re the perfect accessory to have a little fun with, and one can never have enough pairs. If she loves to dress out of the box, a few fashionable details to look for are the chic cat eye shape, bold colored lenses and tortoiseshell accents. Trend followers will appreciate an oversize or logo-printed pair, too.

Make holiday dreams come true with a new “it” bag. Whether it’s a bag your loved one has been coveting all year, or a seasonal pick for their next getaway, you can’t go wrong with a pretty purse. Picking out a handbag for someone else can be tricky, but cult-favorite bags are a guaranteed win for any fashion girl. You can also play it safe with a classic clutch or a chic everyday bag. Trends to impress include the velvet texture, studded details, transparent materials and, of course, logos. Gifts are a girl’s best friend, and this is bound to be one of them.

Festive eats & treats
Looking for an easy gift for a host, hostess, or even your boss? The holidays are a time to indulge, which is why festive foods and sweet treats make for great gifts. Most people tend to reset from the season’s decadent meals and sugary cocktails come January, so think ahead with Joy’s Simple Food Remedies by Joy Bauer. In her new book, Joy writes about the different foods that you can eat to cure whatever is ailing you: minimize belly fat, cure a hangover, enhance dull or dry hair, reduce wrinkles, strengthen brittle nails…the list goes on! This is a thoughtful stocking stuffer for anyone seeking a new look in the New Year.

Statement top, skirt or shoe
A statement piece is the perfect present for your most fashion-forward friends. Last week we included statement dresses and boots on our gift guide, and this week we’re shifting the scope to tops, skirts and shoes. Think: maximum sparkle, luxe velvet and bright colors. An embellished blouse or fringe-laden skirt will keep her stylish from day to night. Take a cue from the season’s aesthetic and go big with a red patent leather pump. These pieces are seamless additions to a stylish wardrobe and can be worn with basics into 2019.
