In Her Closet: Elshane Shapiro

Elshane is a celebrity fashion stylist, fashion blogger, and mother based in Los Angeles and NYC. A leading costume designer in Hollywood, her typical days are spent on set of global commercials, behind the scenes of red carpet looks, or in the closets of her personal shopping clients. Elshane’s blog, Elshane’s World, is her greatest passion because it diaries both her world in fashion and the working mom lifestyle that she has created around it. Scroll down to see her bright and colorful picks for the Fall and a Q+A that highlights her favorite shopping destinations!

Speed Round Q+A

Q: Favorite store to shop in NYC and LA

A: In NYC I’m a sample sale junkie. It’s where I stock up on serious closet-filling essentials, like midi day dresses from LoveShackFancy, sweaters from Chloe, and sandals from Christian Louboutin. Once my closet is filled with the essentials, I can use stores like Bergdorf Goodman and Intermix to fill in the rest. Also, never underestimate a trip to Century 21 downtown– they just opened a shop-in boutique called Next Century which is basically a store curated for me. I want it ALL!

Q: The one thing always in your purse

A: A pair of “extra” sunnies (you know, bling’d out, colored cat-eye, logomania, etc), and those mini red container Altoid mints.

Q: Next trip is

A: In two weeks, I’m heading to Cabo with about 30 of my closest LA friends for a majorly fun-filled, adults-only weekend. I’m casually counting down the minutes to departure…

Q: If you have one hour of alone time, what do you do

A: Pilates, foot massage, and blow out. That’s actually 3 hours of alone time…but it’s all very important 😉

Q: Favorite trend for fall

A: Shearling, Western, and a “ladies who lunch” sweater, but the cool kind…
