In Her Closet: Sarah Sathaye

Sarah Sathaye is Jet black’s Chief Revenue Officer, leading the marketing and partnerships teams. Her current focuses include growth and expansion strategies; brand positioning; member acquisition, activation, and retention; and building key business partnerships to accelerate growth for Jet black. Ms. Sathaye comes most recently from, an Amazon company and a premier online shopping destination for high-fashion apparel and accessories.  She held multiple roles including Global Head of Customer Marketing & Acquisition, and Head of Innovation, overseeing Product Management, Customer Experience, and the launch and management of a contemporary fashion marketplace experience on She also partnered with the senior leaders from Amazon’s Fashion and Physical stores teams on development of new business strategies and associated customer experiences.  Prior to her time at Shopbop, Ms. Sathaye served as Vice President of Special Projects for men’s apparel company Alton Lane.  She also spent 5 years in strategy consulting; at Bain & Company, she advised Fortune 500 and mid-market retail and consumer goods clients as well as private equity investors in these sectors.   

Ms. Sathaye holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she graduated with honors, and an M.S. in Systems Engineering and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.  She lives in New York City with her husband and two children.


What have you been living in this winter: Black combat boots – they go with everything from jeans to skirts & tights, 


What item are you loving for under $200: This sweater is SUCH a steal! I can’t wear it without getting compliments, and the bright pink color is a must this winter. The ivory and black are classic and beautiful too. 

What is your “it” accessory for the season: A warm but fashionable wool or cashmere hat.

What are you eyeing for spring: Ultra-feminine puffy sleeves, like this gorgeous top from Ganni.

Your go-to layering piece: These Amazon Essentials T-shirts – super soft, perfect amount of stretch, and not see-through. Great alone under a statement jacket or for layering under sweaters.
